    Say not, "I have found the truth,"
    but rather, "I have found a truth."...

    Say not, "I have found the path of the soul."
    Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path."
    For the soul walks upon all paths.
    ... The soul walks not upon a line,
    neither does it grow like a reed.
    The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals."

    Kahlil Gibran

The human tendency to be everywhere else but in the moment really does a lot to slow down the process of spiritual evolution. There is only one place to be and that is fully here - now. Beautifully expressed here by Shunryu Suzuki

    When you do something, you should be completely involved in it. You should devote yourself to it completely. When your mind is wandering about elsewhere you have no chance to express yourself. But if you limit your activity to what you can do just now, in this moment, then you can express fully your true nature, which is the universal Buddha-nature. This is our way."

"Beyond a ceratin point, the whole universe becomes a continuous process of initiation.
A true initiation never ends''.

Robert Anton Wilson

"When we really start to take a look at who we think we are... we start to see that while we may have various thoughts, beliefs, and identities, they do not individually or collectively tell us who we are. [And yet] it is astounding how completely we humans define ourselves by the content of our minds, feelings, and history." Adyashanti, Emptiness Dancing

    "Eternity isn't some later time. Eternity isn't a long time. Eternity has nothing to do with time. Eternity is that dimension of here and now that thinking and time cuts out. This is it. If you don't get it here you won't get it anywhere, and the experience of eternity right here and now is the function of life..."

    ~Joseph Campbell~

Love is free...

    "Perfect love casts out fear.
    Where there is love there are no demands,
    no expectations, no dependency.
    I do not demand that you make me happy;
    my happiness does not lie in you.
    If you were to leave me,
    I will not feel sorry for myself;
    I enjoy your company immensely,
    but I do not cling."

    Anthony de Mello

May the sun bring you new energy by day;
May the moon softly restore you by night;
May the rain wash away your worries;
May the breeze blow new strength into your being;
May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty, all the days of your life.

Paradoxically speaking...

    "If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite."

    ~ William Blake ~

I said to my soul be still, and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing, wait without love
For love would be love of the wrong thing, there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought;
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing

T.S Eliot

    “At any moment, you have a choice, that either leads you closer to your spirit or further away from it. Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything - anger, anxiety, or possessions - we cannot be free."

    ~Thich Nhat Hanh~

How right he is.
Yet if we also cast distortions like anxiety and anger away without first unleashing the truth at their core, neither will we be fulfilled as souls.
And paradoxically, neither will we be truly free nor truly happy.

Open

Yes, indeed. It's important to understand it from a whole complete perspective to truly grasp the message.

Denial and hiding from away are simply other ways of clinging. It's the attachment that keeps a person enslaved. Not just the negative stuff either.

I found his words very inspiring, even though I would personally replace the word happiness for peace.

''Peace is the result of retraining your mind to process life as it is, rather than as you think it should be "

Wayne W. Dyer

So goes a lot of re -wiring and neutrality.

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost''
Martha Graham

    "Freedom and love go together.
    Love is not a reaction.
    To love is not to ask anything in return,
    not even to feel that you are giving something,
    and it is only such love that can know freedom."

    Jiddu Krishnamurti

    "What comes, will go.
    What is found, will be lost again.
    But what you are is beyond coming and going and beyond description."

    Rumi

We are all visitors to this time, to this place.
We are just passing through.
Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love.....
And then we return home.

Australian Aboriginal saying

THE ALCHEMY OF LOVE

You come to us
from another world

From beyond the stars
and void of space.
Transcendent, Pure,
Of unimaginable beauty,
Bringing with you
the "Essence Of Love"

You transform all
who are touched by you.
Mundane concerns,
troubles, and sorrows
dissolve in your presence,
Bringing joy
to ruler and ruled
To peasant and king

You bewilder us
with your grace.
All evils
transform into
goodness.

You are the master alchemist.

You light the fire of love
in earth and sky
in heart and soul
of every being.

Through your love
existence and nonexistence merge.
All opposites unite.
All that is profane
becomes sacred again.

~ Rumi

    “Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself.”

    Richard Bach, Illusions

    “Amazing. You were so attached to it, and it still disappeared for you."
    “Attached! I was whocking that cloud with everything I had! Fireballs, laser beams, vacuum cleaner a block high...”
    “Negative attachments, Richard. If you really want to remove a cloud from your life, you do not make a big production out of it, you just relax and remove it from your thinking. That’s all there is to it.”

      Richard Bach, Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

    I loved the essence of this quote. I know I wouldn't 'remove it from my thinking' with intention. Relaxing and surrendering in to the moment, creates the space for thoughts to fall away and for that black cloud to dissipate naturally.

This quote really highlights to me the importance of standing up for what is right and how karma will creep up on us when we don't... Karma has a way of creeping up on us when we turn a blind eye.

    “First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—
    because I was not a communist;
    Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
    because I was not a socialist;
    Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
    because I was not a trade unionist;
    Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
    because I was not a Jew;
    Then they came for me—
    and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

    Martin Niemöller

"what might have been is an abstraction,remaining a perpetual possibility only in a world of speculation. What might have been and what has been point to one end,which is always present". T. S. Elliot

You can not turn away. Your destiny is bound to the destinies of others.
You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it.
You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors.
To seek enlightenment is to seek annihilation, rebirth, and the taking up of burdens.
You must come prepared to touch and be touched by each and every thing in heaven and hell.
I am One with the Universe and it hurts.

― Andrew Boyd .. School of Lost Borders

"Light bounces off from matter, reflects to us it's information and we absorb that information. If you're a bright light, don't be surprised if you keep being placed in dark areas. You're needed there the most. You're there to shine so bright that it shines through the ego and to people's souls, revealing to them who they really are. You are the truth." Brendon Theo Joshua

"Truth is the Offspring of Silence and Unbroken Meditation"
-Isaac Newton.

The human animal as a unique being, endowed with an instinctual capacity to heal, as well as the intellectual spirit to harness that innate capacity.” !!
Peter Levine

"Hiding from your true feelings and fearing failure or rejection will amplify your need for cast-iron protection. The only real rejection is in not trying to break out of the armor you have used to protect yourself. Is the armor now becoming a jail, and your fears the jailer?"

From "Medicine Cards...Armadillo"

There is only one religion, the religion of love
There is only one language, the language of the heart
There is only one caste, the caste of humanity
There is only one law, the law of karma
There is only one God, and he(she) is omnipresent

Sai Baba

    "Would you like to save the world from the degradation and destruction it seems destined for? Then step away from shallow mass movements and quietly go to work on your own self-awareness. If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation."

    Lao Tzu

At the end of the day, tell yourself gently: "I love you. You did the best you could today, and even if you didn't accomplish all you had planned, I love you anyway." ~Francois

When you know who you are; when your mission is clear, and you burn with the inner fire of unbreakable will; when no cold can touch your heart; no deluge can dampen your purpose, you know that you are alive. ~Chief Seattle

“One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés

“This may or may not appeal to you — this moving, this nomadic existence, and this nonattached life. I am not suggesting we all leave our relationships and homes and children. Not at all. I am proposing that we reconceive the dream. That we consider what would happen if security were not the point of our existence. That we find freedom, aliveness, and power not from what contains, locates, or protects us but from what dissolves, reveals, and expands us.”
Eve Ensler

“It is not your passing thoughts or brilliant ideas so much as your plain everyday habits that control your life....Live simply. Don’t get caught in the machine of the world— it is too exacting. By the time you get what you are seeking your nerves are gone, the heart is damaged, and the bones are aching. Resolve to develop your spiritual powers more earnestly from now on. Learn the art of right living. If you have joy you have everything,so learn to be glad and contented....Have happiness now.”
― Paramahansa Yogananda

"Father, O father! what do we here
In this land of unbelief and fear?
The Land of Dreams is better far,
Above the light of the morning star."
~William Blake, The Land of Dreams

"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth; Where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection; Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; Where the mind is led forward by Thee into ever-widening thought and action; Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake!"

RABINDRANATH TAGORE

"In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again.” ~Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
