Knowing nothing
"Rejoicing in nothing and knowing nothing...
are the true rejoicing and the true knowledge."
Lao Tzu
"Rejoicing in nothing and knowing nothing...
are the true rejoicing and the true knowledge."
Lao Tzu
"To know the truth is to know the self.
to know the self is to know what the self is not...
To be at one with what the self is and is not
in every moment,
is to be enlightened by all things.
Then there is no trace of enlightenment,
although it flows through our daily lives endlessly."

But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns
behind all clouds, and you will know too,
when you lift yourself high enough
to see beyond horizons"
David Whyte
"To thine own self be true and it must follow
as the night the day...
Thou canst not then be false to any man."
William Shakespeare
"You are what your deep, driving desire is.
As your desire is, so is your will...
As your will is, so is your deed.
As your deed is, so is your destiny.
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV.4.5
If thou shouldst say, "It is enough I have reached perfection"
all is lost...
For it is the function of perfection to make one know one's imperfection.
St. Augustine
"What I know of the world, I have learned in woods and fields...
I have had no other masters than the beeches and the oaks."
St. Bernard
"When is a person in mere understanding?
I answer:"When a person sees one thing separated from another..."
And when is a person above mere understanding?
That I can tell you: "When a person sees all in all, then a person stands beyond mere understanding."
Eckhart
"When the best student hears about the way, he practises it assiduously.
When the average student hears about the way,
it seems to him one moment there and gone the next...
When the worst student hears about the way, he laughs out loud.
If he did not laugh, it would be unworthy of being the way.
Lao Tzu
"Households, cities, countries and nations
have enjoyed great happiness when a single individual
has taken heed of the good and the beautiful...
Such individuals not only liberate themselves,
they fill those they meet with an open mind.
Philo
"Ye divinities on earth! Sinners? It is a sin to call man so:
it is a standing libel on human nature. Come up O lions,
and shake off the delusion that you are sheep...
you are souls immortal, spirits free, blessed and eternal; ye are
not matter, ye are not bodies; matter is your servant, not
you the servants of matter."
Vivekananda
When we choose beyond the needs, wants and desires of the separated self; when we can turn down the endless chatter of the mind and the background noise of life with it's fierce need to change us; in this divine space, inner peace is to be found. From this inner peace, connection to universal consciousness emerges and with it the right path in life - one that is fulfilling and uplifting. This is the path to 'God'.
Here is a reading called 'I am there' that conveys this awareness. A copy was left on the moon by James B Irwin of Apollo XV for future voyagers...
