One has to remember to prepare for these sojourns in the field. I made a mental note to myself in the divinicus sweat lodge in Mae Cabon earlier this year. The small travel towel was useless and only added to my lament as the twigs and grit worked their way remorselessly into my pudendum. You never know with Open when you might be invited to accelerate to some distant location to do a bit of anchoring or clearing or something. There might be the odd barbed-wire fence to negotiate when breaking into a farmer's field to examine a crop circle. Or sit on grass indispersed with little needles that can pierce you where the sun don't shine. I suppose, however, that that is learning to learn. Wearing the right clobber for maximum undistracted focus. And you need to be reasonably fit. In the picture I appear to be holding the rear but in fact I'm struggling to keep up with the spiritual special forces who are rabbiting off the next location at high speed. I recommend a 10 miler before dawn every day or a couple of sprints to the Tor summit if you live in Glastonbury.
