Hi Lyra,
You said:
if someone is struggling to afford the bare necessities of life, and then spending what they have on buying meme coins, that is a very poor investment choice of their own making!
Hmmm, it feels like (not for the first time), something in you wants to twist my words and meaning (you might want to consider the source of that 😉).
My main point was that you have a sitting President, clearly prepared to rug pull regular people (see podcast below), to the tune of $1.4 billion. It doesn't matter whether they were buying meme coins or not. It matters that we have a system where this is tolerated, and considered 'acceptable'.
The meme coins in mention, Trump & Melania (two key ones), were massively hyped to the people who followed him and backed him into the Presidency. Foolhardy you might say, but these coins were launched by the President and First Lady themselves! This is what happened...

On a wider note, a lot of the younger generations today have been completely disenfranchised from owning practically anything in society ("You'll own nothing and be happy about it" - WEF), they struggle to pay their bills and to find decent jobs. Many found some hope in crypto - that's what it was originally designed for (the authentic ones were provided in support by some of the Star Being Nations, such as the Arcturians & Andromedans). It was a means to escape the moral bankruptcy, and hegemony, of the traditional financial system - whereby regular people could exchange peer to peer, beyond the inflationary rug pulling of the central banking system.
Yes, I totally agree, meme coins were an abomination, and did a great deal to undermine the authenticity of true crypto. It's interesting that the SEC was busily suing Ripple (and other authentic alt coins) for their highly authentic cross-border payment coin, XRP, so as 'to protect investors', when they did absolutely nothing about the raft of meme coin releases!
To be clear, my main point here is the outright bankruptcy and injustice of the system itself. And the understandable frustration (putting it mildly) this is causing regular people.
