Looking back on my reset
Comment
Hi Open and all,
wow what a ride this was! I wish to share my personal experience of my reset in detail as a form of integration/celebration and maybe also to offer some inspiration to others. Any reflection is very welcomed and appreciated, too.
For me, this whole experience of the last days has been truly monumental and life-changing. It's difficult to express my feelings through words but I will do my best. My main WHY was to build more trust in myself and to show myself that I can follow through anything that I commit to, however painful or difficult. Another one was to show myself a possible alternative to my daily life before this reset.
I made it as ceremonial as possible and invited my team as a main support. My wish was to know them better through this process. To build commitment, I also decided to stick as much to Open's suggested program as possible without too much tweaking and spontaneity. I adapted it to my current lifestyle and possibilities but then I was sticking to the schedule.
Some notes about my process...
The ritualising was so essential. I wrote my WHY with a schedule on a paper. I opened the process with a fire ceremony on Saturday night. An unexpected huge detail was offering the food to my team/Universe. Throughout the reset, I could deeply feel their support and cheering on - it was like travelling through this together. I also tried to incorporate the OMID approach, so the whole thing felt like a personal retreat in the desert.

Mornings were the most dreaded part but electrolytes can really electrify the system and whatever reluctance towards cold plunge gets mostly sorted with few rounds of bow/dragon breath. I have been avoiding morning cold showers for some months now as since losing a lot of weight it makes me feel really cold and shivering until noon. That was not really stopping me and I added cold plunging in the creek down in the garden, too.
This fear was indeed just an invitation to break through and find the right expression for it. What came out of it was applying 'Wu Ji stance' from Tai-chi or also called 'Zhan Zhuang' (standing tree). This is accompanied with breathing the energy from the earth into your dantian. All I can say is that any discomfort from the cold was easily sorted as I was building heat from the core up/out. Standing like a tree in a rising dawn among other tree beings by the creek, watching water vapour rising up from your body was truly a divine experience. This was followed with cold shower in the house and more Wu Ji and Tai chi. To heat up more, I was also skipping a rope. Any shivering after that was just an invitation to continue breathing more heat into dantian for the next few hours.
Doing chakra toning, soul motion and head-stand right before lunch were a new thing for me but I saw it as very beneficial. It felt like attuning my body's frequency and cleansing it, so it is ready for eating ceremony.
Another huge thing that I think was not mentioned and I felt to incorporate was internet limitation. I went for no internet/screens before 10AM and after 6PM (neither during the lunch).
Food
Invitation here was to be conscious even during preparing the food as my raptor starts there already, putting on a plate much more than the body needs and then overeating. Most of the discomfort from fasting was felt in late morning but I was amazed by lack of hunger in the evening. The urge to have more food was there but my body was doing okay. I adapted the food according to what I had, so overall it was similar to suggestions but the recipes differed.
I accidentally discovered the most delicious garlic 'cheese' dressing (as my alteration to 'nutri pate'). Very much recommended! Recipe for inspiration follows:
- grounded oats, coconut, seeds (sunflower or other)
- sunflower lecithin (Not essential but I had it so I tried. Improves the consistency and it's supposedly good for brain or other things.)
- extra virgin olive oil (avocado would be great as a whole-fat substitute)
- ACV
- spices (salt, pepper, cayenne for some kick...) but most importantly granulated garlic (this is what I had, I am sure fresh garlic paste would improve it)
- water
Getting a deep rest after eating was also great and recharging. Usually, I would spend time during and after eating on the internet which would drag for more hours and leave me quite tired (physically and mentally) for the rest of the day. Thanks to resting and meditation I felt recharged to continue with my day.
What came up
Now some of my personal topics that this brought up...
There was a lot of tightness in the chest and I was unable to fully surrender into it and accept it as it is. It was bringing up a lot of anger, too (trying to control and suppres it). I could do more work with it more but overall, I do consider it very positive as it's uncovered and I have now more opportunity to work with it.
A big exploration was also around discipline and rigidity of it. There came up this obsession around the timeline which usually comes up when I have some limited time, making me lose focus and getting very stressed (probably connected to tight chest). So I was sometimes obsessively watching the time and energetically invested in what's coming up next on the schedule, rather than be fully present in the moment.
The very first morning I also got flooded with the feelings which I would describe as being horrified from realising the enormity of the Shift and how much warrior energy is going to be needed. I guess this could be pointing to some Pleiadian karma, being brutalised by reptilian consciousness?
There was also some compromising coming from the mind with why not to do this now (for example that it rained in the morning so I don't have to go to the creek today...). Turning back to my WHY helped me through.
One of the hardest were silent meditations. Bow, tuning etc. was all good but just sitting and breathing has been really difficult. I suppose it fits to my overall topic of healing the wounded masculine through this process.
Concluding ceremony
I finished with coffee ceremony at noon yesterday (first day after the reset) with some soulful music. Now I have really no words for the intensity of that process. So much joy and being moved to tears, being flooded with strong emotions. I was sitting on the same spot where I had the initial ceremony. I was visited by small lizard running through the fire pit and then also a bird of prey which flew a few meters above me.

There was a strong sense of accomplishement and cheering felt from the ether. Like a team celebrating together after a winning match. I believe what I accomplished rippled further than in my personal journey.
After lunch, I (we) celebrated with this 'sacred cake'. This hexagon was holding together a really delicious construct, indeed! The one I made some time before got burnt from the bottom but this one was just about right, so it also spoke to some equalising of the power from the base.

To conclude
Even without doing the reset, I think it's a great piece of information in this thread. I sometimes get overwhelmed with all the options and overthink, so seeing it all laid out in a specific schedule was helpful for me. I could adapt the suggestions but I had a reference to work with.
The reset was quite intensive but it showed me a possible alternative to every day living. At this point, I might not be able to stick to it as it is daily but what feels right is to 'go to the desert' on some regular basis, maybe even weekly. On the rest of the days, I would then just stick to as many things as possible. That regular contrast could help ease the polarity and soften progressively into more aligned living.
Going through the process was without any exaggerations really a life-changing experience and one of (if not the) biggest highlights of my year. It awakened something deep inside and opened new pathways. It showed me I don't need to rely on anybody else but me. So Open, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your sharings and invitation.
With gratitude,
Dominik
