Profound Self-Honesty Within the Shift...And Why It's So Important

Submitted by Open on

We're at an inflexion point between the Old Paradigm and New, where old consciousness constructs are being challenged and broken down. Yet the old form of our lives can still be compelling; Homo sapiens is hard-wired for inertia, self-protection and comfort - there's a tendency not to risk change if we don't have to. Plenty of people around us are NOT going with Shift. And therefore, it's going to require a very special, important quality: profound self-honesty. It's utterly essential to our progression. Let's explore.

(remastered 20/06/2026)

Inflexion Point & The Old Homo Sapiens

We're at a crucial Inflexion Point in the Shift, where the energies are building for strong acceleration and exponential growth. It's because the vibrational speed of our planet is changing, as the electromagnetic field of the old construct gets challenged and weakened. In short, the natural Flower of Life Torus in us, and all life, is yearning to regenerate.

Sounds good, right?

Yes, but... We also have to understand that this is going to heftily challenge the limitations of the old karmic construct we might be languishing within; whether in relationships or how we live and work. The situation is compelling us to make fundamental changes. The problem?... The Old Homo sapiens in us.

The Old Homo sapiens has been purposefully hard-wired for comfort, ease, inertia and security - why take a risk if you don't have to? It's clear to me, that this hard-wiring, although perhaps emanating way back in history, has been very much contorted and amplified to fit within the planetary Simulation today. If you can get comfort from the 3-second dopamine hit of social media (for example), why invest energy in real change?

Stay up to speed, with leading-edge insights from the frontline of the Shift...

Real Change Requires Real Risk

Real change requires real risk. It requires us to confront, and break down, the limitations of the box we find ourselves in. It requires us to interrupt the old conditioning, the old patterns and behaviours, by resisting the old pathways we tend to repeat - day in, day out.

It's the classic scene from The Matrix, where Neo is finding the awakening all too much, and wants to exit the car to return to his former life; Trinity reminds him: "You have been down there, Neo. You know that road, you know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where you want to be".

At this point, it takes commitment, drive, risk, and the determination to change - because you know where the old path leads.

Once you summon the determination to change, that's not the end of the game, however. It's only the beginning. Because now you'll be stepping into the unknown, internally. And that's uncomfortable - that's where the Homo sapiens hard-wiring kicks in. You've have to keep confronting that inwardly, and breaking it down, applying something like the Openhand Breakthrough Approach.

Watch this Demo on how to break through
unconscious limitations and restrictions

If you're determined, you will break through, and you will open the space. And that leads to a new pathway that is more informed by the soul.

However, here's where we also need to be wary of the Spiritual Identity - The Imposter of the Soul. What is this?

Confronting the Imposter of the Soul

You'll have been walking the path of the soul for some time. But then, suddenly you wonder why you're stuck - why life isn't changing as it could (or should) in the Shift?

You've worked hard to find new soul rays of expression, because you've realised these are the real game-changers of life. At Openhand, we call them the 9-Rays of Consciousness...

When you break through Old Homo sapiens density, open an internal space, and attune one of these rays (or a harmonic of them), then you're setting authentic beingness loose into the field. Now, the quantum field bends around what you are being - great!

However, you're going to have to deal with the cleverest trickster of all - the Imposter of the Soul.

It's a shadow of the soul which forms, that knows the 'spiritual truth', and then subtly controls life so as to hide in the psyche and protect itself.

Typical Imposters of the Soul:

For example: we all know about the ray 2 of surrender - most people begin the journey by surrendering a need for an outcome, so that they get into the soul in the first place. However, the Imposter gets to know, and mimic, surrender, when in actual fact, the pathway might be to apply strength and commitment so as to drive on through.

An Imposter of the Ray 4 might like to harmonise with a given situation (a family dynamic, for example) "Because it doesn't feel compassionate to rock the boat".

An Impostor of the Ray 7, that of flow and spontaneity, might prevent someone from truly committing to a situation of required graft, grit and hard work.

An Imposter of the Ray 5 might always be looking for perfection, and so they never get anything accomplished.

On the Ray 6, the Imposter might constantly prevaricate in situations that "aren't the perfect environment for it to be authentic", or else "not the perfect timing", so they don't actually take a life-changing step.

Learn more about Imposters of the Soul
in this Article

Due to the prevalence of Homo sapiens hard-wiring in the beginning, and the Imposter of the Soul syndrome further down the path, we're going to need to apply the quality of profound self-honesty to break through.

How best to apply that?

Step into the Friction

It's to allow yourself to step into confrontations and situations that aren't comfortable - that are challenging, and present some risk.

Maybe you've previously stepped out of the Matrix to connect with the Soul, and attune to it, but now it's guiding you back in, in a boundaried way, so as to confront previous conditioning and hard-wiring. Perhaps to find sovereignty and learn to set boundaries?

The discomfort that comes with this is NOT a reason to turn back - although the spiritual ego (the Imposter) might be telling you: "Take the path of ease". But is this backed by signs and synchronicity? Most importantly, by taking a particular pathway, does it invite inner growth and change?

Especially, does it invite the breakdown of the ego in some way?

If you're truly growing and evolving with the Shift, then you're going to be constantly generating inner friction - discomfort, as you challenge the old constructs and routines. This friction is necessary, because it's where to go to work on the inner: You keep connecting into the Sacred Ground of Being; you keep touching the tightness and asking - "What's the attachment?"; you keep surrendering into this, until you hit the place of the absolute. But this is not the end of the story - if you truly have touched the absolute, and not some bubble of quasi half-acceptance, then the soul will come through in a powerful new way and invite new ways of living and being in the world.

Be aware, this will challenge the people around you who aren't prepared for change or don't want to - those still stuck in the old Homo sapiens conditioning. These people won't want you to change, because it makes them more comfortable when the world around them is predictable. They'll likely discourage, and even fight you, so that you don't change - because this puts them on the spot. It reflects to them that if they were willing, they could also change.

Go In the Direction of Destiny

So, at this point in the Shift, the growing forces through the field are compelling evolving people to change. First, to change inwardly, but then, to change the old circumstances as we become more authentic. To be clear, at this stage, the only way to fulfillment and a life of meaning and purpose is to go with that - to go in the direction of destiny, with profound self-honesty.

Do be aware of the Imposter Syndrome too. It pops up in all manner of spiritual guises; all manner of reasons why to stay comfortable in the box. Especially, the spiritual one!

If you'd like some support on going with the Shift and breaking down old constructs, get involved with the Openhand work...

Bright blessings

03/11/2026 Shift Insight: Ownership

Probably the most important trait to enable us to advance down the path is taking ownership of what happens to us. Why so important?

Everything shapes in your life through the quantum field, which is determined by what you're being and how you're expressing - or how you might be inadvertently derailing yourself. These inner convolutions then project into our outer world. So to point the finger of blame at 'someone or something out there' is totally counterproductive and disempowering.

The real question is: why did you manifest it?

If you're prepared to ask this question when things go 'pear-shaped', you're now empowered to look at your distortions in the situation:

What were you attached to?;
How did you need it to go a certain way?
Where did you express in a distorted way?
How did you need others to be a particular way?
Why did you require others to respect or love you?

Questions like these will ultimately reveal the inner attachment, density, or karma. Now we can go to work on releasing them, by knowing ourselves as the One in them - not needing the external to go, or be, a certain way.

That's why profound self-honesty is crucial to advancement down our path.

I encourage all to review the lead article on it above...

Profound Self-Honesty Within the Shift
And Why It's So Important

Hi Open,

Being a humble office staff member (that's what they call me) among yoga teachers and doctors, most days are welcomed with a sense of feeling out of place. The triggers come in the form of hierarchy and superiority. In a way, that's a blessing. Why do I need respect and love from others? It has led me to processing and releasing.

But I find it painful to witness a lack of support from my own team members and to be condemned when I was ready to hold space for them during challenging times. There is a feeling of being used. I don't know what karma is bubbling up, but the mind says, "Move out. When will you learn?"

Yet every time I listen to the mind, the universe finds a crazy way to pull me even closer to it, leaving no other options in sight.

How can one navigate this without losing one's essence within a team?

Thank you

Interesting that you titled your comment: "Visible yet invisible"

And then said... "But I find it painful to witness a lack of support from my own team members", in relation to 'team members' in the 3D.

How are you relying too much on their connection and validation instead of your real Team in higher Dimensions? What if, instead, you made the invisible visible?

Hi Open,

It's been a brutal year of revelations. Not just about what's been going on around me and what I got myself into, but how I created it. Despite fogginess and blind spots, which turns out are not all just my own level of unconsciousness but put on, memories come to show me how I'm getting just what I asked for. My being less has informed how life is being to me now. Part of me wants to weep in despair "why have I done this to myself???". Another wants to take advantage of the opportunity to work on becoming what I've always wanted to be. But it's so hard, especially when self-pity was learned early to provide relief where relief could be found nowhere else. When I realize how deviant and corrupt I've been, it makes what's going on a bit easier to bear. But overcoming victim mentality is proving to be a formidable challenge I can't seem to overcome. Not without help anyway, for which I'm immensely grateful by the way. It's just I need to be able to hold my own, stand on my own two feet. Be able to lift myself out of the pit without feeling the need to get help or emotional support outside of myself. And I still don't know quite how to equalise with it. I'm not even sure if I should equalising with the event itself or my reactions to it. And the wearing down of my energy. Do I see it as an opportunity to spend more inside myself? Because even though there is lots of interference, I've been finding that I can still connect, if only a little and only for a moment, and having to do something novel like tone by the lake, focussing on the corresponding element as I go through each chakra. I can't help notice the irony of a life spent numbing and putting myself to sleep now finds me regularly fighting off somnolence (put on) when all I want is clarity and alertness. The irony of avoiding myself and now I finally want to connect and I'm blocked at every turn. It took a takeover for me to finally start investing in myself. So how I can I be angry about that when it's all been for my best? I just don't know how to endure the events. Maybe it's because I'm still too identified with the physical? I'm coming to accept the vulnerability of my unconscious parts while sleeping. Whatever's done to me I still make the conscious choice when I'm awake so that has somewhat eased the shame of powerlessness. Working it through helps me understand being the mind how ego clings to needing to be superior to everything and not letting that go is where the pain is. I let that go and i can see how it doesn't define me. I'm still that whisper of magic despite any violations to my person. But I still struggle with it and especially when I'm awake. What can I specifically do during an attack to get deeper in my self while still experiencing it fully to give myself the chance to break through it? How do I stop getting in my own way? Stop taking it personal and lowering into resentment and vindictiveness? Which I now see is the same lifelong dynamic as with my sisters.

Hi Barb,

Yes, I can appreciate the victim mentality is a hard one to crack. Are you ready to do it?

I sense the question itself is beset with challenges - on the surface, mental level, you may willingly say "Yess!!" However, I sense at the emotional level, there is a strong identity around being the victim. It's important then to ask: "What does playing the victim get me? What do (I think) I gain?" Usually it's the comfort of knowing a situation and gaining some kind of attention in that place - even if it's negative attention, which supports the self-judgment you had in the first place.

Can you risk breaking this limitation open? By your own clear admission, being the victim doesn't get you anywhere - although this kind of dynamic would gain lots of attention on social media - which doesn't tend to go anywhere!

So where now?

You said this...

But it's so hard, especially when self-pity was learned early to provide relief where relief could be found nowhere else.

Yes, the path is hard. Which is why most never begin. Because it involves internal confrontation and a degree of sacrifice, which in a world of soft comfort, most people don't want to take on.

So, the shift tends to happen when you hit rock bottom, and realise it. Then how to begin?

Take one thing - meditation time, for example. Make a commitment to meditate, for just 5 minutes, on three consecutive days - set the alarm clock through the 5 minutes. Don't worry if the mind is busy and the body is aching. Just do it.

On the following three days, double the time to ten minutes. Then 20 minutes, until you're doing at least 30 minutes every day.

Then after that, confront other areas of your life - like time spent on social media and diet. Make a small change each day, that you know are possible. And then... keep making them!

This is how you can forge soul on any given day.

Until you realise something profound: it's the 'leaning in, and pushing against the friction', that actually brings joy with them. Because you know you're growing.

One final question: why did you not keep coming to the Openhand events? Because they are perfectly designed to help in this way.

Ascension Exchanges are coming right up... Ascension Exchanges 7th November
Maybe see you there.

Well wishes

Hi Open,

Thank you for your reply. Much food for working with. I will follow your suggestions and try to turn into the discomfort I'm avoiding when I reach for the soft comforts. I have been meditating more, but it's hard with the interference. I stopped going to the exchanges because I didn't want my issues to disrupt the session, but if it's not a problem I will return, so I guess I'll see you there, thanks again!

Hi Barb,

There will always be a reason not to - 'I'm tired, bored, in pain, ' etc etc etc. There will never be the perfect moment, never the perfect condition. In 11D, a bee is excruciatingly loud! 🐝

Take whatever friction you are feeling and use that as the spiritual gym in which to go to work.

In terms of attending the events, if everyone was already enlightened and ascended, there wouldn't be any! The whole point is to come along and process one's karma.

Well wishes

I'd love to, I feel like it's time to get going. I just don't want my 'stuff' harrassing others. Pushing through has been forging me no doubt, I just hope I can keep at it. Very interesting about the bee but I don't understand the analogy? That would be something to experience. I'm ready to process but there will be push back for sure so I apologize in advance. Thank you for your help!

PS I understand now. Making excuses, yes absolutely you're right, I'll do my best not to let things stop me. And I think I understand the bee thing better; it's about distractions. Not letting distractions veer one off course. Thank you that's helpful, I'll remember that. Interestingly I was toning the 6th Chakra when these landed. Goes to show even occupation doesn't completely block ones energies. Your support is so very much appreciated!

After reading this article a flash from the trailer of 2025 Dracula: A Love Story came through my mind. I have always been facinated with creature features. Some say the origin is from the story of Judas, which is not what has been told. That is another love story. Might be some karma there. In the clip, Dracula loses his wife and it spends the duration around that event . What is extraordinary is the actor Caleb Landry Jones is able to tap into this pain with complete authenticity. He knows it intimately. It brought forward this space in a void of pain. Suspended in space and time. This deep separation from everything. Complete anguish. I think the story of Dracula and the Werewolf are 3D metaphors of this space. The perverse distortion that happens when one can not or will not allow the release from the pain. Maybe the imposter of the soul is a master in this space? Addiction sits in this distorted space. When working with the energy of my own cravings I realized I loved feeding the monsters within. It is intoxicating and sensual. I noticed that feeding it is keeping it alive and well while I stay dead inside. It is difficult. It takes courage and strength to let the consumptive inpulses run through, observe it and be honest about what it is and where it comes from. I came across a saying this week that I wrote on my mirror, "consistancy out performs perfection". So I step into that void when it presents itself and observe myself in it. When it presents, it shows me I am not where I need to be.

Thanks Jen,

To explore this - "Part of the journey through aloneness seems to be confronting the feeling that you will be alone forever with no support, no connections" feels very powerful and deep - and scary!

For sure, it's all a continual work in progress. Interestingly, I've felt the pull to do a 10 day silent Vipassana retreat next month. That'll be a deep exploration of being alone!!!

I send a little air for your glowing ember, love Fiona

Hey Fiona, I have had a vipassana retreat dancing around me for a while now, but up to this point the timing hasn't worked out. I would love to hear more about that when you return, a deep exploration indeed!! =)

Thank you for the stream of cool Avalon air for the ember! I'll remember that when the flame is feeling low <3

With love,

The more time I spend alone, the more I want to be alone. There's no one there to break your little bubble I find. Funny....
Why? Coz greeting the dawn with others is more enjoyable, and I've never woken up to find anyone else but me pillow next to me. And so I numb myself in solitude forgetting that this be a livable scenario.
Throat hurts now :'(
